The League is in danger of folding if we don’t have new leadership - The team will be stepping down after this fiscal year!

Do you enjoy participating in one of the many Clubs?  Do you and your family like the Community Events (Easter Egg Hunt, 4^th of July Parade & Picnic, Tots Halloween Party, and Holiday Lighting Contest) sponsored by Piney Creek Women’s League?  Do you value Piney Creek Women’s League?

If you answered yes to any of the questions listed above, please consider being a part of the PCWL Board for 2012 - 2013.  Your help is required to keep Piney Creek Women’s League active.  You may have noticed that for the most part the PCWL Board Members have been the same for the past 5 years.  We need a break & the Board needs an infusion of fresh ideas! 

The current & past Board Members will remain active in leadership roles through the end of our fiscal year (July 2012).  If you are interested in becoming a PCWL Board Member, now is the time to step up!  You will be able to work with the current Board & have time to learn the ropes.  There are a few things that need to remain in place (eligibility for PCWL Membership, for example).  Moving forward, the new Board will chart their own course and have the freedom to create new Clubs & activities for the League. 

·         Board Members must be a paid Member of PCWL.

·         Board Members must attend the League Board/Business Meetings (4 per year).

o   Board Members create & manage the PCWL Budget

o   Board Members plan 2 (or more) Social Events per year.

·         Board Positions

o   President

o   Vice President

o   Secretary

o   Treasurer  (Chellie Barron has agreed to continue in 2012 - 2013)

o   Communications Officer (primarily email communications; however, can include creating electronic newsletters)

Your consideration is appreciated and a new board is required to keep the PCWL going - so please consider where you can help in maintaining this valuable league.  Reply to this email and plan on attending the next League meeting (Monday, Feb. 6 - see calendar below for details) if you are interested in a board position.

Note from the President

Our annual Kick-Off night was Wednesday, Sept. 14th at the clubhouse. Many braved the rain to join us for snacks and beverages as they browsed the tables of group sign-ups and PCWL information. Friends greeted each other and met new neighbors, sharing some laughs and getting acquainted. We had many new members sign up for the League and we hope it proves to be a positive experience for them, further bonding them with the neighborhood.

Without your help, we could not offer this rare amenity to our community. We hear of real estate agents in the area utilizing our group to promote the neighborhood as there is something 'warm' about an established group of ladies who support each other in getting out, enjoying a laugh, sharing in each others' lives. In some way, we are all impacted by the League's presence in the community, whether it be:

• as a new resident desiring an outlet to meet neighbors,
• as a participant in one of the many clubs we offer with like-minded ladies,
• as an attendee of one of the heavily attended community events sponsored by the PCWL, or
• even as a home seller setting their home and neighborhood apart as 'The Home to Buy!'

For these reasons, and more, we must press forward with an array of activities, groups, and events which help to plug all the women of Piney Creek into the community!

If you were not able to attend the kick-off, please know that you may join the PCWL at any time. Just click the Dues link below for directions. If you are not yet 'plugged in' please visit the Clubs link on this site and contact the coordinator for a club you may be interested in joining. If your interest is not accomodated by one of our clubs, consider starting one up. One new member just did that herself! You'll find the new Hiking Club in the Clubs link. If you are a member of the PCWL, please select an event to volunteer a couple hours of time. This is another way to contribute to the community, fellowship with neighbors, and get out and about. We need your help to make the events happen! If you feel you have skills to contribute to the League in a different way, consider an Executive Board position. We would love for you to join in on the quarterly meetings and we have a few positions still open.

The League has experienced incredible leadership over the past several years, and a big Thank You goes out for all the hard work to make things happen. It would be an extension of gratitude for some newcomers to step into the board, bringing new ideas, enthusiasm, and a chance for existing leaders to become participants at some of the events. Please consider joining the board - we would love to hear from you!
